1) My visión for this project was to bring this older story, “The Story of an Hour” down to a teenager’s level and help teenagers relate to this story more. 2) I did not maintain a lot of the original story. I kept roughly the same amount of characters, I kept the tone roughly the same, and I made sure my story had a twist at the end just as the original story did. 3) I changed the setting, the time period, the plot, and main details in the story to make it more relatable for teenagers. 4) The main character is pregnant, and fakes that her dad died to get her friends back. Created Modernized Adaptation

Genre- Drama Characters- Becky, Becky's friends, her dad Setting- A high school in a small town, present day Plot- there are rumors going all around school that Becky is pregnant, is it true? How does she deal with it? Pivotal Moments- rumor starts that Becky is pregnant all of her friends ghost her her reputation is ruined in her town to try to save herself, she fakes that her dad died her friends come back to her to support her Becky thinks she successfully got her friends back and there's no way they'll leave her again Climax- Becky is getting picked up from school the next day, and it's her dad waiting in the car when she gets off the bus Resolution- All her friends realize that Becky lied just so that she would get her friends back. None of them ever talked to Becky ever again

The Story of an Hour HW Question

To modernize this story, I would bring the technology of that time up to date, make the characters and quotes more relatable to people from our time, and I would add more emotion and effects as well. One way I would do this would to be to set this story in a high school. For example, a friend tells someone to tell someone a rumor they heard, it gets all over social media, all just to find out the horrible rumor was not true.
