Seize The Day Reflection

There were three main lines from this poem that I liked. They were "Remember this day as a gift," "Love your work and enjoy your play," and "Have a place and time to sit with your thoughts. I liked, "Remember this day as a gift," because it reminds me that every day is a new opportunity to do something good for yourself or for others. "Love your work and enjoy your play," was something I connected with because sometimes I feel like I am spending so much time on school and other activities, that I forget to remember to take some time for myself and enjoy having fun. The last quote, "Have a place and time to sit with your thoughts," I felt was a good line because it reminds you how important it is to always reflect on how your day was, or the things that you did, both bad and good.

The first poem talks a lot about how important it is in life to be able to take some time out of your day to think, to heal yourself, and to remember that life is too short to just be worrying about you job or school. This poem, in a serious tone, tells us that there is more to life than just work and money. Life is about the relationships you have with others and the relationship you have with yourself. This poem is about making sure you don't let your own life pass you by. The second poem is very confusing and uses a lot of personification. This poem humanizes the poem, gives it human characteristics and makes it as if the poem is someone who did something wrong or illegal. The poem was "tied up to a chair" and then beaten until it gave a confession. This made the poem a lot sadder and more serious than it was in the beginning. After reading this poem, I walk away from it feeling confused and sad.

A Small Town Monologue

https://youtu.be/gdnJ0SO35Eg Sometimes I imagine myself living in a remote town somewhere in the middle of America. Just taking in nature and working the land to feed and support my life. Peace. Quiet. No T.V. No Internet.  No Smart Phone.  No one around for miles. A tiny little town I could venture into from time to time with just a market, a post office, a gas station and a hardware store.

Baseball Monologue

Most people know me as, "America's Pastime." I’ve been around for over one hundred years and have travelled to ballparks all over the world. But the life of a baseball isn't as glamorous as it sounds. People throw me at faster speeds than I’m comfortable with, I get stuck in the ground, dragged through the mud, and hit over walls far away from home plate. In my glory days, I was at Yankee Stadium during the World Series. The sun was shining, the crowd was roaring, it was a feeling I had never felt before. I had made it to the biggest stage in the world. That was until I sat in the pitchers hand as Babe Ruth came to the plate. The pitcher threw me towards home, and Babe Ruth hit me completely out of the park. Since that day, I have not moved. I stay in an old ally outside of the stadium. Covered in grass stains and dirt, I bake in the sun as I am left for dead. Nobody wonders where I am, nobody even tries to find me. But as I lay here underneath the baking sun, I remem...

Baseball

This is a brand new white baseball. This is my favorite sport, and is a game that I have played since I was little. I have continued to play up to this day, and want to continue to play in college. Baseball has always been apart of my life in one way or another. Whenever I walk in my house there's always a game on the tv, and my family and I love going to professional games as well. I chose a baseball to represent me because it's been one of very few constant things throughout my entire life and is something I love to do.
