Poem Performance Reflection

The easiest part of this project was performing it. What was hard was deciding who was going to do what, if we were going to use music, what movements we were going to do, etc. etc. The movements on stage were what made the performances interesting. I feel like we did a great job as a class expressing feeling and emotion, but need to do a better job projecting our lines.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Reflection On November 15th, 2019, I saw Cheshire Academy’s Drama Club put on the production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” by Simon Stephens in the Black Box Theater on campus. This production told told the story of a Boy named Christopher, who struggled with autism, and how he delt with family issues within his home, figuring out who he is as a person, and being held as a suspect for the murder of one of his neighbor’s dog. There were many themes in this play as well. The most important theme was the importance of self recognition. Early in the play, Christopher does not really know who he is. He has to struggle and go through many obstacles in order to find himself. But he persevered, got through the tough times, and by the end of the play he had a good idea of who he was as a person. The Story of an Hour HW Question

To modernize this story, I would bring the technology of that time up to date, make the characters and quotes more relatable to people from our time, and I would add more emotion and effects as well. One way I would do this would to be to set this story in a high school. For example, a friend tells someone to tell someone a rumor they heard, it gets all over social media, all just to find out the horrible rumor was not true.
