Homesick Second Draft

Fame
“Homesick,” by Kane Brown gave me a new perspective about being famous. As a young child, everyone wants to be famous. Everyone wants to be on the cover of magazines, on TV, and have millions of followers on social media. But in reality, fame doesn’t always change your life in a positive way. “Homesick,” by Kane Brown expresses a feeling of sadness and loneliness while showing how fame can change your life in a negative way.
This poem talks a lot about how Kane Brown misses what used to be his significant other and all the memories he shared with her. This missing of his person makes him sad. An example from this poem that expresses his sadness is, "If home is where the heart is I'm homesick for you." Brown is trying to say that he wishes he could go back to the way their lives used to be before he became famous, when his life was much more simple. With him being famous now, he doesn’t have the opportunity to live the life he used to with his significant other. He just wants to be happy again, and he knows that his life before fame will be the only thing to fix that.
An example of this poem expressing loneliness is, "I'm homesick, this feeling that I'm feeling no it don't quit." This shows how even with him being all over TV and being front page news, he is still thinking about how his life used to be and how much he misses it. He is saying that no matter how famous he is, no matter how many fans he has, it doesn’t take away the feeling of missing his significant other and the simple life they used to live together. Life on the road can get very lonely at times. Brown can’t take the feeling of being lonely anymore, and just wants to be back at home with his person.
Fame doesn’t always change your life in a positive way. While being famous, life speeds up on you and you don’t have the time to do some of the little things that truly means a lot. Being famous means being out in public a lot, working long hours, and being away from home for long periods of time. As one becomes more famous, life speeds up on that person and requires them to use more time and energy towards that fame. In this poem, Brown states, "All I wanna do is be alone with your brown eyes just holding onto you until the morning," showing that fame has taken so much away from his personal life, that he hasn’t even had time to sleep in his own house with his significant other because of how busy he is. He just wants to have one night alone with her, and isn’t able to because of his fame.
